Toyota Technology Challenge – national final

The Toyota Technology Challenge National Final will take place on Saturday 26th May 2012 at Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd, Burnaston, Derbyshire.

During March, 54 schools participated across 7 regional events which saw 12 schools win £250 for their school and secure a place in what is anticipated to be a tightly contested national final.

Aiming to win the coveted title of National Champion at this Saturday’s event will be 12 teams representing Scotland, the North, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Midlands, the South East and the South West.

The challenge targets Key Stage 3 & 4 students, participating teams will race their own designed and manufactured vehicles in the hope that they can claim victory by having the best overall performance on the day, allowing them to further increase their prize money and win up to £1,000 for their school, as well as an action packed alpine adventure holiday in the French Alps for their team.

The level of design and innovation we see throughout the Challenge shows us the future is bright for British engineering.”
