The Toyota Technology Challenge National Final took place on Saturday 26th May 2012 at Toyota Manufacturing UK’s Burnaston Plant concluding months of hard work and preparation for participating schools.
The two winning teams fought off tough competition from other schools in each of their categories to emerge victorious in Saturday’s tightly contested national final. Their winning vehicles secured them an Alpine Adventure Holiday to the French Alps and a total prize of £1,000 for their school.
Flint High School from Flintshire in North Wales became the 2012 champions for the PIC category whilst Test Valley School from Stockbridge in Hampshire became the 2012 champions for the Solar category.
Nick Freeman, Assistant General Manager, External Affairs, Toyota Manufacturing UK said: “The quality of work that we see at the national final is outstanding. The attention to detail, pride and determination that the students have in their vehicles are a joy to watch”
Chris Calver, Education Manager of Rapid said “Once again the national final has been fantastic. The level of design innovation and the passion these students have for engineering is incredible and they are a credit to their schools.”
