Leyland Trucks celebrates production milestone with its 100,000th DAF LF

27 Sep 2011

Leyland Trucks celebrated the production of the 100,000th DAF LF truck this month, reflecting the “commitment and dedication of all Leyland employees to designing and building the best distribution truck in the industry,” said Leyland Trucks Managing Director, Andrea Thompson.

Group Head of Transport for Travis Perkins, Graham Bellman, was presented the keys to the new DAF LF by Thompson. Travis Perkins is a leading UK company specialising in building material supplies and its extensive vehicle fleet includes 1,000 DAF LF trucks. “The LF model is the backbone of the delivery fleet operating at our 1,800 locations across the UK,” said Graham Bellman.

The DAF LF vehicle range is a premium lightweight truck serving the 6-21 tonne market and complements DAF’s CF and XF models. DAF was also one of the first European truck manufacturers to introduce low carbon technology to its fleet and in 2010, it introduced the new LF Hybrid.
