The Vauxhall Motors student placement scheme has been officially recognised to be amongst the best in the country, shortlisted for a National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) Award 2011 in the ‘Over 250 Employees’ category, available to businesses offering long-term placements for 20 students or more. Vauxhall Motors’ long-standing student placements are highly coveted with several hundred applications being received for the c90 places available every year.
The successful student is guaranteed to receive extensive training in different parts of the business and works to a high level of autonomy and responsibility also including exposure to all levels of the business. Many of the placements involve travel across the UK, connecting with Vauxhall’s sites in Luton an Ellesmere Port, agencies in London and various dealerships and in some instances even travel abroad is on the agenda. As Vauxhall is an integral part of General Motors’ global network, students will also benefit from international relationships and exchange with experts encompassing all sectors of the business such as engineering, manufacturing, design or branding.
